Abstract

The patient, a 39-year-old married woman, had experienced repeated pneumothorax on the right side during six months period. In each instance the pneumothorax occurred beginning of her menstrual period.
Right thoracotomy was performed. On the right diaphragma we found thirty small circular depressions, seven of them were bored. The scarred area was resected, and showed with endometrial tissue on microscopic examination. This case is the second reported of catamenial pneumothorax associated with diaphragma endometriosis in Japan.
