Laparoscopic surgery is regarded as a good option for treatment of benign diseases such as colonic diverticulitis.
Furthermore, trans-umbilical single-incision laparoscopic surgery is a rapidly advancing technique in laparoscopic surgery because of excellent cosmetic results. We herein report two cases of repeated colonic diverticulitis treated by single-incision laparoscopic colectomy (SILC). Two women suffered from several episodes of recurrent colonic diverticulitis. These patients underwent SILC to improve their quality of life. The procedure was successfully completed without complications. The postoperative course was uneventful and recurrence of the colonic diverticulitis was not seen. SILC is a safe and feasible method for use in cases of repeated colonic diverticulitis, providing a favorable cosmetic result for patients.
