Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show the process of urban regeneration and its sustainability, based on cultural industry. When consumption-oriented cultural policy for a part of people like elite, is used for developing cultural industry or regional economic development, after all, there will not be sustainable growth in the aspect of society, economy, and even art/culture. If cultural policy premised on public policy theory is implemented, how can it promptly create or generate cultural industry which taken root in a community? If it made it, how would cultural policy function and, at the same time, the financial problem concerning to cultural policy/cultural investment be solved? Answering above these questions, this paper tries to propose the system/structure for urban sustainable development based on cultural industry.
