Abstract

Transportation infrastructure such as highways and high-speed rail, which reducespace resistance, have historically changed the urban hierarchy and structure. In the near future, they will be influenced by increasing development of Information Technology, but no surveys have examined this topic. This study is intended to elucidate the updated distribution pattern of cybershop location in Japan by extracting them from the internet. Results clarify that cybershops tend to concentrate in the Tokyo region more than usual shops. Some cybershops locate in rural regions in which usual shops cannot be located.
